Weber and the Frankfurt School

Although his affiliation with the "school" was less a strictly 
institutional than a biographical one, Siegfried Kracauer did write on 
Weber a number of times, including an extended essay entitled "The 
Crisis of Science: On The Foundational Writings of Max Weber and Ernst 
Troeltsch" (1923) reprinted in _Das Ornament der Masse_. This volume of 
Kracauer's cultural-critical essays is due out this May in a translation 
entitled _The Mass Ornament. Weimar Essays_ published by Harvard University 
Press.
