[Cst-1b] Arithmetic coding

Hi

Does anyone have good references for how the arithmetic coding works?  I'm
refering the the page with all the symbols!  It was one of those lectures
I didn't quite make and it seems to be a case of martin richards not
giving a full explanation in the notes.
  
Suppose it's better than the occasions where we are
told to 'look it up'.  It's not in the Big White Book as far as I can see
so any advice would be helpful.  I seem to have managed to work out the
main part but there are gaps in my deductions.
