Thanks for your reply, Kev. But why do you have to rotate about z if the
original (standard) cone lies along the z axis already (ie the cone points
into the screen)?

I first rotate about the y-axis into the y-z plane, then about x onto the
z-axis. But I'm not sure whether the angles/signs are correct.
