It's good to hear from Catherine Liu -- I believe this is a new voice on
this list?
In response to this:

Isn't in possible to critique enlightenment thought by appealing to a
different set of universal values? Or to other universal values in addition
to those promulgated by enlightenment thought?
I don't see the link between "new forms of domination" and "centered on
responding to 'individual' particularities."
