Dear Mr. Huttunen, you postulated:

>Jep. US should withdraw its troop and regime of 1968 should restore in
>Iraq.

Don't you think it would be somewhat unfair to drag these people
out of their rocking chairs, and away from their great-grandchildren,
and press them into political service? And is this what the Iraqis
want - a restoration of a regime from over 30 years ago?

Rauno:

So what. In Estonia they restore a regime from over 40 years ago.

>And further more US should withdraw its troops from Europe too and
>mercifully give to Europe its true independence which is sovereignty
>in defence affairs.

By that token the true independence of France, Belgium, Poland,
Austria, Czechoslovakia, etc., would have demanded that they remain
under the occupation of Nazi Germany. I am not saying this is not so
- perhaps it is exactly what they would deserve. I just wish to
ensure that we are on the same wavelength.

Rauno:

So, we have to pay the prise today and that prise is that Europe can decide its own defence. How long we have to pay the prise? I am not sure we are on the same wavelength. Our history and our values are so much different. Superpowers have always ruled the world (Rome, France, England, Soviet Union & USA) - they give and they take away. UN is only hope for small states but now its role has changed radically.
