Dear Mr. Peters, you are asking me why I, as you put it, "identify with
the conquerors".  Luckily, in this case, I don't have to engage in any
identification, which is always, in any direction, a most dubious
activity.  I am, so to speak, _of_ the conquerors. The conquest is performed 
with my money, after all.  And it is not clear to me why
you think it inappropriate to engage in frivolities, or anything
else for that matter, while one is participating in a conquest.
I would say precisely the opposite.
