Ah, the F-S list is experiencing, so to speak, a priestly competition: Mr. 
Peters steps forth to compete with Assassinated Press in calling
our consciences to order.  There used to be a time when conquest, to
the conqueror, was a cause for joy; but now that we exude Christianity
even from our most secular pores, it is required that conquest be a
time for guilt and repentance.  Hic transit gloria mundi.
