Why is that?

A small and I hope modest contribution to the debates about high and 
low culture, about theory and cultural practice (under the present 
condition of capitalism), and so on...
    I do think that Bruce Springsteen is a very good writer and that 
some of his songs, words and music and both taken together, have more 
to say about the lives of the working folk (from whom his stardom has 
of course long since distanced him) than any "multiperspectival 
approach"... "valorization" or any such...  
    Let's hear it for the poets. At his best (1974/75) Bruce was a 
very good one...
