Dear all
Attached is a request for players for a show during science week next
month. By the looks of it, all and any musicians would be very welcome to
play.
Thanks
Matt

Good morning music society presidents,
I hope everyone's well.
Apologies for the e-mail to you all at once, but I'd really appreciate your help!
I'm a second year PhD student in the Centre for Music and Science (Faculty of Music), and am writing a one hour show about music and maths for primary school children, to take place on Tuesday 16th March 10-30-11.30am.
The show is part of the Science Festival, and should be great fun - we have over 300 kids booked in, and the show involves lots of demonstrations of how instruments work, a professional compere, and a Pythagoras character to aid the storyline.
Everything's now falling into place (including the Human Stave, and the giant Kazoo Choir!), but we're still in desperate need of musicians. We have an arranger lined up to put together whatever we want, for whatever combination we have, but we're struggling for volunteers to come along and play.
I'd be extremely grateful if you would you consider whether this is something you'd like to come along and play in (it should be really good fun!), or could spread the word as far as possible to other players who may be able to help. The time commitment would involve a rehearsal on the evening on Monday 15th March, and the show the next morning. I've attached the poster that went to 200 schools.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions or playing you may be able to offer,
take care,
Michelle
